Produce Hydrogen From Bacteria? Watch a video of how this is possible.

Video on Hydrogen From Bacteria

Here is another way to produce hydrogen. Dr. Markov, a Russian born biology professor at a University in the USA is researching and developing (R&D) methods to make hydrogen from photosynthetic bacteria. The bacteria are able to produce hydrogen from solar light under proper circumstances.

These specific purple bacteria grow in mud ponds and lakes. The prototype bioreactor mixes bacteria with carbon monoxide to make hydrogen.

He has received a $10,000 grant for his research. He is building a much larger reactor to make this research turn into something practical in powering a car.

Many scientists say this is a possibility to further reduce the worlds dependence upon oil to power our cars.
