Hydrogen Aircraft Of The Past, Present and Future

Hydrogen Aircraft maybe one of the solutions to a combination of different crisis facing humanity today; global climate change, increasing number and strength of hurricanes, irresponsible oil spills, high fuel cost which translate to higher transportation cost for consumers, since it's been a fact that hydrogen is a clean and efficient source of energy. 

According to Flug Revue, Germany's leading aerospace magazine, "As early as 1956 tests took place in the USA with a modified B-57 Canberra. In 1988, a triple-jet hydrogen powered Tupolew Tu-154 flew in the former Soviet Union. Since the beginning of the nineties, Germany's Dasa has been working on hydrogen propulsion systems within the framework of the German-Russian Project Cryoplane. An important future milestone will be a hydrogen-powered demonstrator based on the Dornier 328JET."

July 13, 2010 Boeing Unveils Unmanned Hydrogen Aircraft- Phantom Eye, flying at 65,000 feet for up to four days.
