Meyers original power supply

Hey,
I read something about Meyer's cell and believe it may help someone to reproduce it. Apparantly he used a high frequency ramping power supply. I did not know what this was until my electonics professor drew one on the whiteboard. This ramping power supply charges an inductor and dumps it into a high voltage capicitor, using a high frequency charge discharge cycle. he explained if the charging frequency is in the audible range, you can hear the cicuit ramp up. A camera flash circuit works in a similar fashion.
Meyer explained this ramping discharge type of power source was much better, because the discharge frequency is essentially a noisy pulse containing a wide spectrum of frequencies. This circuit is well documented. Meyer's only modification seemed to be that he incorporated a current sensing circuit, which prevented any continous arc within the capacitive cell.
So this 555 stuff is not really the way to do it. It produces too exact a frequency. You would have to have it dialed in to the exact resonant frequency to electroylis the water, which would be extremely difficult to find.
This method of electrolysis is akin to unlocking the water molecule with the right electrical combination, rather than the more common brute force method using current.
